With this type of conversion it often means that clients can achieve two bedrooms and a wet room/bathroom. Some of our clients have opted to use the extra room as an nursery, study, hobby room or opting for a master bedroom with a luxurious bathroom and walk in wardrobe area.
The options for dividing up the space in an L-shape conversion are endless. Often meaning that a small two up two down property can become a four bedroom house with an en suite bathroom to the master bedroom. This type of property provides so much versatility when thinking about how to divide up the space to suit your family’s needs.
Bespoke glass features can be added to this type of conversion in the stairwells to throw huge shaft of light down both the new stairwell and brings additional light to an often dark internal first floor hallway.
Not only do they provide a greater internal volume for the given floor area (compared to hipped roofs) with this type of construction the gable walls are often capable of providing ready made support for new elements of the structure such as roof and floor beams in most cases we can find room for a bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
If there is a rear addition to the property we can sometimes build a secondary dormer above this to create a second bedroom in addition to the rooms we have already built. To qualify as permitted development a box dormer is built on the opposite side of the building to the highway.
