08 Jun Our favourite new development in your area this month is… the Berkeley development at Trent Park, Enfield, London
For anyone in the Cockfosters, Oakwood, Enfield and Barnet areas, Trent Park is a sea of green in the suburban sprawl. Hundreds of acres of stunning woodland and open park space for exploring, walking and cycling. Originally part of Enfield Wood, the whole estate was a royal game reserve in the 1400s, but today it’s an escape for joggers, golfers, families and friends.
Enter Berkeley, one of the UK’s best-known quality developers and their phased build of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments and 4 and 5-bedroom luxury houses, nestled in the parkland. The site boasts 24-hour security and access to an exclusive lawn club with swimming pool, tennis courts and gymnasium with prices ranging from £570,000 to £1,640,000.
Currently, just three properties are left available, plot 85, a 4-bed house from the Wisteria Collection for £1,295,000; plot 86, another 4-bed from the same collection; and plot 107, a 5-bed residence from the Bevan Collection for £1,640,000.
Wisteria Collection properties are modern, contemporary, semi-detached homes set out over three storeys with a total property area of 2,067 sq. ft (192 sq. m). The architectural style has been described as ‘traditional England’. When you enter the ground floor of the property you pass by a cosy TV room or dining room with dual aspect windows to the front and side of the property. Passing your downstairs WC, stairs and cupboard space, you enter the jewel of the ground floor, the spacious kitchen/breakfast/dining room with double doors out to the property’s terrace and garden. Take the stairs upwards and on the first floor you will find a large living room with windows to the rear and the master bedroom with an impressive dressing area and en suite. Up, up, up again to the third floor and you will find bedrooms 2, 3 and 4. Bedroom 2 has an en suite and there is one further family bathroom. You can choose between 3 specifications and finishes, each as elegant and timeless as the next. High ceilings give the properties a feeling of space, and stone worktops, engineered wood flooring, deep pile carpets, fitted wardrobes and classic architecture give a luxury feel to each property.
The Bevan Collection is described as a boutique collection of contemporary detached homes. Once again this property is set over three storeys, inspired by the very best in Victorian architecture with a modern accent. Larger than the Wisteria Collection, the properties are 2,324 sq. ft (215.9 sq. m). The living room and kitchen/dining room are both on the ground floor in a more traditional arrangement. This property also has a WC off the entrance hall, storage space and double doors out to terrace and garden. Floors 2 and 3 are for bedrooms and bathrooms, with the spacious master and second bedroom on the first floor, both with en suites, and bedroom 3, 4 and 5 on the third floor along with a family bathroom. The footprint of the property is larger than the Wisteria Collection homes, but they share a similar quality of finish, specification choices and high ceilings.
In fact, what we love about these Berkeley properties are their high ceilings. They lend an element of grandeur to the homes, reflections of the Grade II mansion house that has been at the centre of Trent Park since the 1700s, though it has been extensively altered through the years.
